Internet Explorer 11 Locking up

Q: Internet Explorer 11 Freezing/crashing This thread is locked from future replies

Having issues with Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 10 Anniversary, when I use it IE 11 keeps freezing, sometimes it becomes unresponsive even if it hasn't crashed and other times I have to open task manager to force it to close. I never had any problems with IE 11 before the terrible Anniversary update.

What can I do? And no I down right refuse to use Edge, Chrome and FireFox I hate all three of them especially Chrome and they're so ugly.

Hi,

The above issue might occur due to cookies, browsing history and other internet components conflicting with the website on the computer.

Method 1:

Run Internet Explorer Performance troubleshooter by following the steps below and check if any of the browser component is missing or corrupted.

1.Press Windows logo key on the keyboard, type troubleshooting and select the top most search result.
2.Click on View all from left side panel of the screen.
3.Select Internet Explorer Performance, click on Advanced option and check Apply repairs automatically option.
4.Follow the on screen instructions and wait for the troubleshooting to complete.
5.Check for the missing or corrupted browser components after the troubleshooting is complete and check if the issue is resolved.

Method 2:

If the issue persists, delete cookies, temporary internet files, internet history and password by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

1.Press Windows logo + R keys on the keyboard to open Run command box on the desktop.
2.Type inetcpl.cpl in the command box and press Enter key on the keyboard.
3.In General tab, click on Delete under Browsing history.
4.Check the options you want to delete from the window (check Password option also) and click on Delete.
5.Follow the onscreen instructions and check if the changes are effective.

Refer to the link below on Internet Explorer and check if it helps:

If that doesn't work try this.

Turn on the Software Rendering Mode
•Launch Internet Explorer 11, open tools menu by pressing Alt + X then go to the Internet Options box -> Navigate to the Advanced tab
•In the Settings -> Accelerated graphics -> Mark Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering option.
•After it save the settings by clicking OK and Reboot your computer.

If that fixes the problem then you are using an oudated graphics driver.
