Can't put App on Lock Screen

This only applys to Windows 10 version 1511.

You are unable to put an app like the weather on the lock screen because the option choose an app to show detailed status is grayed out.

You have to make check to see if the location is turned on.

If it isn't then do the following.

Location icon is greyed out.
Also in privacy settings, under "location for this device is off"the CHANGE option has also greyed out. also how to turn on windows location platform in windows 10...i can't seem to find it in windows10...Permission to use location for all apps is off and also greyed out...hence not able to use Cortana also ... IT was working fine but i don't know what suddenly happened
Windows and Drivers are up to date. No error message during installation.
Infact everything was working fine. Cortana was also working fine after this latest update. Suddenly now Cortana wants to use location setting which it is now greyed out. This location was working perfectly till then. Nothing seems to turn on this location...In Privacy also, "CHANGE" button under "location for this device is off" is not responding..

Problem is not only about Cortana but also other apps. using LOCATION is off for all the apps and I can't seem to turn it on. I have come across some sites that "turning on windows location platform" has helped some of them. but in Windows 10 I am not able to find this setting also.

HOW TO TURN ON WINDOWS LOCATION PLATFORM IN WINDOWS 10...Some people have solved this problem via this step

Okay so I had this issue for the longest time and couldn't figure out how to fix it. But by golly I've done it! Basically you have to go to regedit and go through a process.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lfsvc\TriggerInfo\3

.
NOTE: This is important. Lfsvc starts with an L, not an I like I thought it did. So you have to go to Lfsvc. Then triggerinfo, then ONLY DELETE folder 3.

Restart your computer, and when you open it up again,
run (windows key + R) services.msc and locate geolocation services.
It will say disabled, you want to right click that and open properties.
Then change disabled to automatic. Save that/apply it, and close.
You should be okay after that, and locations and Cortana should work.
Hope this helps!!!

Be sure your background is turned on under Privacy and background apps

And when you are in settings, Privacy, Locations, scroll down and make sure the app under (choose apps that can use your location) is turned on.
